Allene Leak

Madden Fellow

Allene is excited to be back in her home state of Colorado after many years away for her undergraduate degree and professional career. She is now a second-year art history master's student with a concentration in museum studies. Allene's academic research focuses on local Colorado artists from the early to mid-twentieth century, including mural decoration still up throughout the city of Denver. After graduation, she hopes to expand her past experience in museum education and work on interpretation and public education within the museum sphere.

Sheridan Posschelle

Madden Fellow

Originally growing up in Miami, Florida, Sheridan moved to NYC to pursue a dual B.A. in Art History and Graphic Design from Marymount Manhattan College. After college, she continued her interest in art through working at a small family-owned gallery in Whitefish, Montana. Her experiences in New York and Montana cemented her love of American Art and her intent to pursue a career that would allow her to further explore the genre. Denver was an obvious choice for Sheridan's next stop, and pursuing her master's with the support of the Madden Fellowship has opened up opportunities to get a sense of the work involved with such an important and varied collection of artworks.
